Recipe for coaching personal emotions

Let me propose a concrete method to deal with the disturbing emotions that affect one’s quality of life on a daily basis. Most of my life had been pretty emotional and chaotic. I discovered that the emotions that brought about so much suffering were nuanced by beliefs that created false perceptions leading to fear-based patterns and confusion. I am grateful that suffering brought me to seek guidance.

I soon discovered a rapid and efficient life-transforming technique called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a mind unifying method. Because we often feel separated from source, « for our religion brought about a collective thought form about god being out there... so separated from us», leading to dishar-mony of the psyche often reflected in the body, this technique helps us live in a polarized world through acceptance and forgiveness as a way to equilibrium.

EFT is a non-conventional meridian-related technique used by more than 100,000 people and allows us to reach a balanced energy regarding almost any disharmony in the mind and body with a 90% efficiency rate when well applied. No pills, no chemicals.

Let’s begin by introducing the few points that we will use to move the perturbed chi (energy) toward release. Start by using 2 fingers, index and middle finger, to tap on either side of the following body parts 5 to 7 times while focussing on the conflict at heart:

- EB beginning of eyebrow (Bladder 2) trauma, grief, loss, rejection, deception, shock

- SE side of the eye (Gall bladder 1) rage, rancour, repressed anger

- UE under the eye on bone in the center (Stomach 1) anxiety, fear

- UN under nose (Governor 26) confusion, the future, jealousy

- CH mid chin (Conception 24) shame and thefeeling of humiliation

- CB beginning of collarbone, a little under on either side (Kidney 27) amplifier

- UA under arm, 4 inches under armpit (Spleen-Pancreas 21) anxiety, phobia, fear

- BN one inch below the nipple for men and forwomen, one inch below the bra wire (Liver 14) anger

- KC karate chop tap with 4 fingers on side of thehand (Small intestine 3) negativity

EFT comes in many versions but I recommend the « Choice» version (design by psychotherapist Patricia Carrington) for this article.

Now on a scale of 0 to 10 (10 being the highest), rate your anxiety about the conflict. Then, tap the KC (karate chop) while repeating 3 times the following sentence or one better suited for you.

« Even though I feel stress today; I choose to remain calm and confident. (Always use the underlined words to create polarized sentences.) Now tap 5 to 7 times on each point repeating the following:

EB (Eyebrow) I feel stress;
SE (side of eye) I will never get it done in time;
UN (under nose) I hate feeling overwhelmed;
CH (chin) I feel stuck;
CB (collarbone) I’m afraid I will be judged;
UA (under arm) I always sabotage a good opportunity;
BN (below nipple) I can’t stand not being on schedule;
KC (karate chop) I need to eat something right now (buff anxiety).

Now tap the same points repeating: (it may feel odd at first)
EB - I choose to totally accept myself right now
SE - I choose to feel calm and confident
UN - I choose to trust myself
CH - I choose to trust others
CB - I choose peace
UA - I choose to surrender these worries to higher forces
BN - I choose to be grateful for this opportunity
KC - I love having the freedom to choose.

Now take a deep breath, rate your anxiety again and repeat until you get to 0 or as low as you can bring it. Feel the warmth entering the field of your body as the charged emotion shifts. You have the power to instantly change the quality of your day and the only way to create that nuance is by doing it of free will. And it is amazingly rewarding.
