Life’s Little Surprises
Some of life’s little surprises are very disruptive. Imagine, for example, you are 46 years old, your three sons are already teenagers, and you are just beginning to dream of a not-too-distant move out of the city to Pinnacle Road, when suddenly – you are pregnant!
You have taken all the proper precautions, are even expecting menopause, so how can this be? Your husband thinks you are joking, then realises you are serious. It is the shock of your life – you become a phenomenon. What should you do? What are the chances of a normal pregnancy at that age? What about retirement plans?
What would you do?
Well, this is what we did – we welcomed a baby girl into our family and completely restructured our lives. Kathlyn Angelina Lipowski is now six and flourishing in Abercorn. Creating a new dynamic within our family and finding a way to relocate ourselves to Pinnacle Road turned out to be the very best decision our family has ever made. I won’t try to delude you – it was not easy on any of us, but we have no regrets.
The move forced my husband and me to be very creative in order to make a living. During our first year in Abercorn, my work organizing international medical conferences kept me away a great deal of the time and I found myself involved with extremely stressful projects, including event-marketing and coordination of content and design for printed documents and websites. In December 2004, life threw us another curve, as I barely survived a major car accident. It was time to reset my priorities, and now I am determined to work here full time.
I moved my company, Curly Dog Communications Inc., to Pinnacle Road and plan to work for local clients. I am putting together a team, which includes my talented associate and web carpenter, Sarah Cobb, also from Abercorn, so please get in touch if you have expertise to share in programming, graphic or web design. We have over twenty years of experience and will meet for a free consultation.
We never know what disruptions life has in store for us but I am grateful for the little surprises and realize they make life all the more worthwhile. Most of all I have learned that in life, anything can happen – and it usually does!
